HOBOKEN, NJ — As Hoboken's main street — Washington Street — and nearby streets continue to evolve, several businesses have opened their doors in the last two weeks, and one iconic business has closed. Here's a rundown:

After 57 years, D & V Barbers Head Next Door

After a longtime grocery and smoke shop at 1034 Washington St. closed last year, the longtime barbers next door renovated that spot and moved in. D & V Barbershop — Dominic and Vincent's —had been in their own slot at 1032 Washington St. since 1966. Check out a black-and-white ribbon-cutting photo with Mayor Louis DePascale here.

Nike By Hoboken Is Open

The former Baby Gap at 222 Washington St. in Hoboken has been replaced by Nike by Hoboken. The sneaker and clothing store opened the last week in January. It's a brisk 6-block walk (or run) from the Hoboken train terminal. Check out their website here.

Framebridge Is Finally Open

Get framed in Hoboken! Framebridge has finally opened at 507 Washington St. and posted signage urging you inside.

Dom's Is Gone For Good

After 43 years, the famed Dom's Bread has closed for good, but not without a crowd. Hundreds of well-wishers arrived last Saturday to try one last warm loaf. Find out the history here.
