HOBOKEN, NJ — A Hawaiian poke chain that has restaurants in nine states is coming to Hoboken's Washington Street early next year, a local broker announced Friday.

The CEO of Pokemoto, whose parent company is Muscle Maker Grill, said in March, about the possibility of coming to New Jersey, "Hoboken is a millennial and Gen Z focused community and home to a large population of young professionals. It also has Stevens Institute of Technology with approximately 8,000 students. Universities are a key demographic for our locations."

Pokemoto's website explains, "Poké is native Hawaiian cuisine, traditionally made up of diced fresh fish served as an appetizer or main course. Modern twists include chicken, tofu, shrimp, or salmon with strong influences of Japanese and Korean cuisine. Think of Hawaiian style poke bowls as deconstructed sushi with all your favorite proteins, mix-ins, toppings, and crunches with your favorite sauces!"
