New Coffee Shop To Open In Hoboken's Washington Street On Friday

A new coffee shop will open on Hoboken's main drag on Friday. See what makes it different from the others.

HOBOKEN, NJ — The owners of a popular coffee and beverage shop in downtown Jersey City will open their Hoboken location on Friday, they said.

Sober Shot replaces the former Smart Cleaners and Alterations at 1200 Washington St.

The small Hoboken location of Sober Shot will be a grab-and-go shop only, with no inside seating, according to its permit.

Although Jersey City and Hoboken have dozens of coffee shops and cafès, what makes Sober Shot unique is the array of specialty beverages and ingredients.

The Jersey City location focuses on crafted beverages and flavorings including Japanese matcha, raw honey, black tea, and lavender milk.

Drink prices on the delivery menu range from $4.75 for a basic coffee to $9 for a Japanese "dirty matcha" with espresso.
