NJ Transit, Other Carriers Cancel Buses Amid Snow Storm: 3/21

Several bus carriers canceled service out of the Port Authority's NYC terminal on March 21, including NJ Transit, DeCamp and Greyhound.

Due to winter storm conditions, NJ Transit will suspend all bus service, including lines to and from the Port Authority Bus Terminal, starting at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, the agency announced.

NJ Transit also said it will be implementing its “Severe Weather Schedule Level 1” as significant heavy, wet snow accumulation is expected throughout the state.

So how can bus riders get home on Wednesday? According to a NJ Transit alert:

“Cross-honoring will be in effect on NJ Transit bus, private bus carriers, rail, light rail and PATH at Newark, Hoboken and 33rd St. in New York. At this time, it is not anticipated that there will be cross-honoring on NY Waterway ferries.”

NJ Transit officials advised commuters to use extreme caution when walking on exposed sidewalks or station platforms and when boarding trains and buses.

OTHER BUS CANCELLATIONS AT PABT

On Wednesday morning, the Port Authority of NY/NJ advised commuters that several other bus carriers had suspended service out of the Port Authority Bus Terminal.
