NYC Concerts Blast in New Jersey Apartments
Union City residents can hear concerts from across the Hudson River at Pier 97.
When building Pier 97 on the Hudson River, contractors checked to make sure nearby Manhattan neighborhoods wouldn’t be bothered by the sounds from concerts. However, they didn’t do a soundcheck at Hudson Club at Port Imperial, in Union City, New Jersey
“New Jersey gets bashed and I’m used to that happening,” resident Diane Singer told My9NJ.
Singer has a brain tumor which limits her productivity to a few hours every day. The music from Pier 97, which she can hear everywhere in her apartment, further limits her by cutting into her work and sleep.

Donna Eichmeyer, a Pier 97 spokesperson, said that, “After being notified of these concerns we immediately took action to decrease sound traveling across the Hudson River.”
However, Karen Samiec, another West New York resident, was excited about the blasting music.

“We got to see The Fray for free -- it was great!” Samiec told DNAinfo New York. “There’s worse things in life to complain about,” she said.
For example, a brain tumor.
