• Woman Seriously Injured In Hoboken Hit-And-Run Crash, Dog Safe: Police (patch.com) — A woman walking her dog was seriously injured in a hit-and-run at 15th and Hudson streets in uptown Hoboken, prompting calls for witnesses and video. City leaders, including the mayor and a councilwoman, are urging the driver to come forward and pushing for new safety measures on what they describe as one of Hoboken's most dangerous streets.

• NJ Transit announces delays of up to 60 minutes on trips to and from Penn Station (nbcnewyork.com) — NJ Transit's Midtown Direct trains are being diverted into Hoboken today because of Amtrak track problems in a Hudson River tunnel, causing delays of up to 60 minutes to and from Penn Station. Hoboken riders can use their rail tickets on NJ Transit and private buses, as well as PATH at Newark Penn, Hoboken, and 33rd Street. Officials say the situation is still developing, so check for updates before commuting.

• New Jersey town sues to halt New York City tourist helicopters, says tours were never allowed (thecooldown.com) — Hoboken has joined Hudson County, Jersey City, Bayonne, Union City, and Kearny in a lawsuit seeking to curb tourist helicopter flights they say disrupt sleep and raise safety concerns. Filed in Hudson County Superior Court, the case targets operators at a nearby heliport and asks a judge to shorten operating hours and block sightseeing tours. Local officials frame the move as a quality-of-life and zoning fight for residents under the flight paths.
