Allison Lemberg is the spirited school counselor at Wallace School. She has been a school counselor for over five years, having previously worked in both Paterson, and Keyport, New Jersey. Allison’s passion lies in helping children and families find academic, social, and emotional success both inside and outside of the classroom.

Over the years Allison has built a proactive, comprehensive school counseling program that includes individual and group counseling, and classroom guidance based on the American School Counseling Association standards. She is the creator of Wallace School’s school-wide character education program, Peace, Love, and Character, that promotes positive culture and peaceful conduct among the student body. Through teaching, and recognizing students when they show compassionate behavior, Allison hopes to educate students to live with integrity, and to treat others as they want to be treated.

Allison is a firm believer that school counseling services are for all students, and works diligently to ensure every child is learning emotional intelligence. With the understanding that academic success can only be achieved when children have a solid foundation, Allison actively works alongside the Hoboken and Hudson County community to bring local organizations and resources to Wallace School families. In addition to assembly programs and workshops, she hosts a monthly “Coffee with the Counselor”, which brings Wallace parents together to educate and discuss child development and parenting tips.

Allison truly values education and will forever be a lifelong learner. She continues her professional studies as she works towards becoming a licensed professional counselor and registered play therapist. She is the editor of the School Counselor’s Chronicle , past presenter at the Hudson County Social Emotional Consortium, and co-founder of the Hoboken Student Support Network.

Allison feels excited to go to school every morning and falls a little bit more in love with her job each day. She is grateful to have the opportunity to build relationships and make connections with the children, families, and Wallace School community.
