Police: 'No Credible Threat' To Hoboken Schools From TikTok Trend

Rumors making their way around the region about a threat to schools have prompted officials in many NJ towns to respond.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Despite rumors making the rounds on TikTok and other social media nationwide about threats to schools on Friday, no "credible threat" has been received in Hoboken, the police said Thursday, using language used by other law enforcement officials in response.

However, the police said, they'll beef up patrols:

In response to those Tweets, a gun safety advocate wrote, "Please ask parents to store firearms safely! An estimated 5.4 million kids live in homes with unsecured guns, and in most school shootings, the gun is taken from the home of family/friends."
