Renowned Chefs To Bring Popular Restaurant Faubourg To North Jersey Waterfront

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — Faubourg, a popular French-inspired Montclair restaurant opened in 2019 by chefs Dominique Paulin and Chef Olivier Muller, will open a second location near the Hudson County waterfront in early summer, they said Monday.

The new Faubourg will open a block from the Weehawken waterfront, near a ferry stop to Manhattan, and will provide skyline views. That waterfront area is already home to a Sheraton Hotel and restaurants like Blu on the Hudson. It's also 3.4 miles along the waterfront from the Hoboken Train Terminal.

"The Daniel Boulud alums’ new venture intends on delivering a culinary experience with serious intent in a thoughtfully-designed setting," they noted. "Faubourg Montclair has been named repeatedly one of New Jersey’s best restaurants."

The French-inspired restaurant specializes in steak and seafood dishes, seasonal and plant-based dishes, and cocktails.

Dishes at the Montclair location range from grilled shrimp & almond with cara cara oranges and Fresno peppers, to a 16 oz. dry aged sirloin steak.

"Paulin and Muller are once again working with architect and designer Craig Shillito of Cycle Projects (ABCv, Lilia, Loring Place) to create an impressive, modern brasserie-inspired space, complete with an open kitchen, grand bar, cocktail lounge, main dining room, private dining room, and outdoor patio seating with partial views of the Manhattan skyline," they noted. "Leveraging their nearly 20 years each working alongside Daniel (Dominique as Cafe Boulud GM, then Boulud group Director of Operations, and Olivier as db Bistro Executive Chef, then Boulud group Corporate Chef), the restaurateurs have become known for classic French cuisine and seasonal cooking."

"At Faubourg Weehawken they promise to deliver the same thoughtful culinary experience that Montclair diners have come to know and love."

Faubourg Weehawken will be located at 1100 Avenue at Port Imperial, a block from the Hudson River waterfront and steps from the ferry pier with boats to Midtown and Wall Street.
