Sam’s Club has apologized because of a cashier who wore a bracelet bearing a swastika.

In a statement to News12, Sam’s Club apologized and said the Secaucus clerk “had no intention to offend anyone. The symbol has more than one meaning.“

Even so, the report said, she has volunteered to no longer wear the bracelet while working.

Paul Fried, the son of a Holocaust survivor, said the clerk who rang him up told him that her bracelet was not connected to the Nazi use of the symbol, according to news12.

The shopper said he does not want to see the clerk fired, according to nj.com, but he hoped the incident would help people be more aware of other’s feelings.

According to the United States’ Holocaust Memorial Museum website, the swastika was once widely used in Europe and had numerous meanings, and served as a symbol of good luck and auspiciousness.
