Maybe we should have left a Taylor Ham sandwich out instead of cookies? Santa paid an early visit to N.J., but this time he took the train.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Maybe we should have left a Taylor Ham sandwich out instead of cookies?

Santa Claus paid an early visit to New Jersey last week as part of the annual “Railmen For Children Santa Train” event, leaving his traditional holiday sleigh at the North Pole and taking a ride on a NJ Transit train with 300 guests, all in-need children and youths with special needs.

The Christmas caravan departed from Hoboken Terminal on Friday morning, proceeding along the Main/ Bergen County lines. Along the way, riders were treated to presents, treats, decorations and “lots of holiday cheer,” NJ Transit reported.
