Sharpie Commercial To Be Filmed At Hoboken Coffee Shop, The Hive, This Week
The Hive, a coffee shop run by two Hoboken moms, will close for two days this week while a Sharpie commercial is filmed there.
HOBOKEN, NJ — When baristas write dozens of coffee orders on cups, they have to use a marker that lasts. Why not Sharpie?
A commercial will be filmed for the permanent marker this week at one of Hoboken's locally owned corner coffee joints, the Hive.
"Color us mind-blown because we’re temporarily closing up shop this week to allow Sharpie to shoot a commercial," the owners said in a message Sunday, announcing their special hours this week. "(Yes, the markers we use to write your drinks down on all our cups!)"

The Hive opened in 2020, is run by two local moms, and is welcoming to everyone, with signs saying "You can sip with us." They sell also sell goods like candles and kids' books, and have a playroom in the back for parents of little ones to rent by the use.
Sharpie's Local, Too
The company that makes Sharpie, Newell Brands, still has a presence at 221 River St., on the south waterfront. So there's an even tighter connection to Hoboken businesses.
