S'mores Day Is On The Way And This Hoboken Coffee Shop Is Ready

As the gooey treat is celebrated around the country, a Hoboken NJ coffee shop founded by two moms sells 3 s'mores kits and a s'mores cookie.

HOBOKEN, NJ — As you celebrate National S'mores Day on Tuesday, you can hunt around for a chocolate bar, marshmallows, and the perfect graham crackers to bookend the gooey goodness — or you can stop into a local eatery featuring special beverages and desserts.

Several restaurants and coffee shops in North Jersey feature varieties of s'mores on their menu, as well as products to help make your own.

One such eatery is a coffee shop called The Hive in Hoboken, founded by two moms last November. With a reservable play area in back and quirky goods for sale up front, the moms can help fans of S'mores Day with three types of s'mores kits and one special s'mores cookie.

"S'mores are the ultimate nostalgic treat," said Catherine Willhoit, who founded the store with Kristin Karotkin. "They're crunchy, melty, and sweet, so what's not to love?"

She added, "[They] bring us back to our days at camp, summer vacations, and time around a fire pit with friends and family. We've recreated that summer vibe and taste in our s'mores cookie: it's got graham crackers, chocolate chips, and Hershey's chocolate chunks mixed together, then topped with a marshmallow."
