The Cinderella team from St. Peter's University in Jersey City has strutted into the Elite 8, making NCAA history.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — The #15-seeded St. Peter's University men's basketball team strutted over the #3 Purdue Boilermakers Friday night in the third round of the NCAA championships, winning 67-64.

Star Status

The team from Jersey City has been having a little fun along the way with its new star status.

This week, point guard Doug Edert scored an endorsement from Buffalo Wild Wings, the entire team wolfed down some steaks before heading to Philly, and there were even fans wearing Edert's trademark 'stashe in the stands.

The team has inspired fans throughout the Garden State, including on the road to the game in Philadelphia this week:
