HOBOKEN, NJ — An ice cream and tea restaurant with locations in New York City, Westfield, and New Brunswick recently posted a video display to advertise itself in the storefront of a former urgent care on upper Washington Street in Hoboken.

Surreal Creamery appears in the display in the window of the PromptMD at 1122 Washington St. The medical practice closed in spring 2022, but still has a location at 309 Washington St.

Surreal Creamery offers ice cream sundaes in Mason jars, festooned in toppings from cereal to syrups. They also offer "Floteas," Bubble teas, and shakes.

Other Business Changes In Hoboken

Here are five more business updates in Hoboken:

The Merry Hot Cocoa Bar truck has made a splash around the city, drawing lines at Church Square Park (pictured above) and on the waterfront. They're offering photos with Frosty on Jan. 15. Their menu includes a rotating variety of cocoa beverages. Get their schedule here.

As reported earlier this year, the former grocery store at 1034 Washington St. will soon be occupied by D&V Barber Shop (Dominick and Vincent's). The D&V shop next door is now empty and up for rent.

Speaking of moving next door, Prime Time Convenience at 303 Willow Ave. recently did just that. They also took over a former restaurant space around the corner on Third Street as a back entrance.
Also, O'Bagel (below) at 600 Washington St. had to close for a few days around the new year because of water problems in the building. Check their social media for updates.

And is Westfield really Hoboken West? A few Hobokenites have opened businesses there, including the Barsky Gallery on East Broad Street, a short walk from the Westfield train station. Why not visit them next time you're in the burbs:

BONUS: Jersey Digs reported on Friday that the Sushi by Bou restaurant in the W Hotel, a timed eating experience, will open on Jan. 14.
