Taiwanese Bakery Opens In Middle of Hoboken's Main Drag
Sunmerry is part of a chain in New Jersey and Queens serving up sticky buns, cakes, and bread. Hoboken's store is 10 blocks from the train.
HOBOKEN, NJ —After a long wait, the Taiwanese bakery Sunmerry has opened a new branch in the middle of Hoboken's main drag, sending its buttery scent up the block. The new store, which opened on Saturday, Jan. 13, bakes sticky buns, cakes, and tofu bread, and serves up coffee to go along with it. (See photos above.)
Manager Andre Li said the store hasn't settled on its hours yet. It also still doesn't have all of its signage up. But on Monday, its shelves were stocked and customers were stopping in.
The eatery is located at 519 Washington St., approximately a 10-block walk from the Hoboken train station. Sunmerry also has shops in Fort Lee, Edison, Queens, and California.
