Giorgio's Italian Pastry: Reopens Sept. 1

There's been some buzz because the building containing this beloved family-owned bakery is up for sale for $2.5 million. Although all good things come to an end, the end isn't yet; Giorgio's is still serving its delicious array of Italian cookies (sprinkles! fudge-topped!) as well as cakes and pies. Just not right now. The bakery is closed through Aug. 31. "See you in September," the sign reads. Find it at 1112 Washington St.

Try Giorgio's Italian cookies: Chocolate chip, fudge, sprinkles.

Mario's Classic Pizza, at the corner of Garden and Eighth streets, is known for its classic pies, pasta, sandwiches, family-friendly atmosphere. They also deliver sangria and other drinks to harried Hoboken parents (we hear). The building's up for sale, as with Giorgio's, but Mario's is still here and the sign says it'll reopen in early September. READ MORE: Please Don't Sell, Mario! Beg Customers Of Pizza Shop

The Old German Bakery at 332 Washington St. is closed until the day after Labor Day.
