Line Of Thunderstorms Approaching Essex And Hudson Counties: NWS
Despite the sunshine, the NWS has issued a thunderstorm watch and special weather statement. See the line of storms on the radar below.

HOBOKEN, NJ — After a soggy start to the weekend, the sun poked out in Hudson County on Saturday, and temps soared to 71 degrees. But the National Weather Service says that's about to change, and they're not April Foolin'.
In a special weather statement issued at 6:18 p.m., they said:

"At 616 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Greenwood Lake to near Springtown. Movement was east at 40 mph ...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.

"Locations that could be impacted include...
"Newark, Jersey City, Yonkers, Paterson, Elizabeth, Stamford, Passaic, Bayonne, White Plains, Wayne, Hoboken, Plainfield, Bloomfield, Hackensack and Linden."

The storm is expected to be heaviest in Hudson County around 7:20 p.m., but heavier to the south.
