Summer vacation is now just a memory. Hoboken students headed back to schools all over the city to start the new school year on Tuesday, Sept. 7.
"It was awesome," said Avalina Gray, a student at Wallace Primary School on Willow Avenue. "I like my teacher. She is really fun."
The city's newest charter school, HoLa, with kids in kindergarten through second grade, had its first official day on Tuesday. HoLa's school board president, Jennifer Sargent, said having the students come in for two hours last Friday made the transition easier for the youngsters and their parents. "Today, there were no tears," said Sargent. "It was great."
