Tribute Grows For Hot Dog Vendor Near Hoboken CVS After His Death
A Hoboken resident and hot dog vendor on a heavily trafficked corner was known for his charisma, his obituary says.
HOBOKEN, NJ — If you've seen a growing tribute to a man named Paul near the Hoboken CVS this month, here's why.
The tribute on the corner of Washington and Newark streets, near CVS and five blocks from the Hoboken Train Terminal, is dedicated to Paul Ricciardi, who died on May 11, at age 56.
Friends and admirers created the tribute, full of sayings and photos, on a pole near where Ricciardi had his cart.

Some of the sayings made reference to one of Ricciardi's favorite pastimes, fishing.
"Paul was always known for his charisma and loving nature," says his obituary. "Paul was a graduate of Hoboken High School and became well known for selling hot dogs by CVS and being an overall people pleaser. In his spare time, Paul enjoyed fishing off of Pier A in Hoboken and enjoyed the thrill of being a fisherman."

But mostly, those who added to the tribute were touched by Ricciardi.
"You will be missed," wrote one. "Thank you for being there when most wasn't. Love you."
"Forever in our hearts," wrote another. "RIP Paulie."
A celebration of his life was held earlier this month. Read his obituary here.
