“The Twins,” as they are often referred to, started baking in 2014, shortly after graduating from Loyola University in Maryland.

They first ordered holiday cookies from a local baker, but decided to try hand-decorating cookies to give out for Christmas and went from there.

"Baking It" is a six-episode holiday competition series in which eight teams of two home bakers visit the two former SNL comedians in a "cozy cabin" in Los Angeles for a celebration of culinary traditions.

They compete for a $50,000 prize.

The twins are active in a number of enterprises. They authored a book series called "Twin Tales" that celebrates "sisterhood, girls of color, friendship, education, representation, and more."

They also run a "Completely Booked" Instagram account to highlight diverse books that they enjoy.

The sisters also give back to the local community, having run bake sales to raise money for St. Lucy’s Shelter for the homeless in Jersey City.

“Being a part of Season 1 of Baking It means the absolute world to me!" Joelle said. "As a
hobby baker, it shows me that the skills I've acquired over the years really stack up against other bakers across the country."

"Being in the cabin with the other contestants, Maya, Andy, and the Grannies brings tears to my eyes every time I think of it," she added. "It was such a magical experience and I hope America has as much fun watching it as we did making it.”

The series is streaming now on Peacock and debuts at 8 p.m. Dec. 3 on NBC.
