Myron Mixon Will Host BBQ Dinners At New Hoboken Restaurant, To Open Next Week
Representatives for the culinary star's new New Jersey outpost said it will open in the next two weeks, serving baby back ribs and more.
HOBOKEN, NJ — Representatives for a long-awaited barbeque restaurant in Hoboken, Myron Mixon's Pitmaster Barbeque, said the doors will open either next Monday or Tuesday.
They also said in a recent release that "Myron himself will be hosting whole-hog dinners on a semi-regular basis and guests can keep an eye on the restaurant’s Instagram and Facebook pages for updates on this fun event."
They provided a sneak preview of the dishes that will be offered at the culinary star's new outpost when it opens, from ribs to vegan dishes to a kids' menu (see photos above and below).

The 55-seat outdoor/indoor restaurant will be open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. most weekdays, more hours on weekends, at 618 Washington St. in Hoboken (complete hours are below).

This is the second outpost of the eponymous eatery, they said, with the first open in Old Town Alexandria, Va.
A five-time world barbeque champion, Mixon will bring "his unique flavor and competition-style Q to Hoboken [and offer] guests the opportunity to enjoy his award-winning smoked meats in a
classic roadside style venue."

The menu includes Mixon’s award-winning favorites, including beef brisket, pulled pork, and house-made sausage, all of which are available on a plate or in a sandwich,and all of which will be smoked in house daily. A variety of wings, ribs and whole chickens round out the protein offerings.
Sides will include mac and cheese, Brunswick Stew, Peach BBQ Baked Beans and more.
Vegan and a Kids' Menu
For those who skip the meat, a handful of vegetarian and vegan options are available. And to finish off the meal, diners can opt for banana pudding or a Jacques Torres chocolate chip cookie.
Kids can get their own beef brisket and pulled pork silders, or share The Family Meal, which includes 1⁄2 Smoked Chicken, 1⁄2 lb Pulled Pork, 1⁄2 lb Beef Brisket, 1⁄2 rack Baby Back Ribs, two Sausage Links and three sides, serving three to four people for $70. All meat is also available by the pound.
Who's Myron?
The chief cook of the Jack’s Old South Competition Bar-B-Que Team and the Mayor of Unadilla, Ga. (check this out), Mixon is also the executive producer and host of “BBQ Rules,” host of “Smoked,” and star of two other hit shows: “BBQ Pitmasters” and “BBQ Pitwars” on Discovery’s Destination America. He is also the author of several books about barbecue.
Joining Mixon in this new Hoboken venture are partners Steven Coven and Eric Cohen. Eric
and Steven are childhood friends. Myron Mixon Pitmaster Barbeque will be the third professional venture that they have supported.
Steven Coven owned Sushi House in Hoboken downtown for 16 years. He began working with Pat’s Steak and eventually held a position within GNC where he was the first recipient of the David B. Shakarian Founders Award.
Eric Cohen is a sales and marketing executive with over three decades of successful experience with a Fortune 10 company.
Myron Mixon’s Pitmaster Barbeque occupies a 1,300 square foot space, allowing seating for up
to 42 guests indoors, plus picnic tables outside for 12 more. The restaurant is counter-style service, with guests placing their order, and then either sitting and having their food dropped via a number system, or taking it to go.
The restaurant also houses a Myron Mixon 72XCC wood smoker as well as Myron’s most recent barbecue championship trophy, from the 2021 Memphis in May competition.
Myron Mixon’s Pitmaster Barbeque will be open for lunch and dinner during the week from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday. As for the weekend, doors will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
