UPDATED: Two Free Earth Day Festivals For Hoboken Residents

Liberty State Park is having an Earth Day event with giveaways. The following week, Main Street Pops is having one at 770 Jackson St.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Want to keep busy the next two weekends for Earth Day? Free events abound.

Liberty State Park in Jersey City has an Earth Day celebration planned from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with food trucks, lawn games, education programs, face painting, a slide, Smokey Bear, and more.

The event also will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the state Department of Environmental Protection.

The following Saturday, April 30, from 3 to 7 p.m., Main Street Pops will host an outdoor Earth Day
celebration with a Green artisan market, live music, animal demos, and more.

From 7-10 p.m. are free film screenings, courtesey the Wild & Scenic Film Festival, where activism gets inspired. The events take place at 770 Jackson St. on the west side of Hoboken, near the 9th
Street light rail.
