Unidentified Woman Found Dead In Hoboken
Police said she was homeless, but they didn't have identification for her. The death is 'not being considered suspicious.'
HOBOKEN, NJ — Police said Friday afternoon that a woman had been found deceased on Thursday morning. They said the woman was elderly and homeless, but they didn't have identification for her.
Police said that at about 9:26 a.m. on Thursday, the police and Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance responded to the rear of 1 Newark Street to check on the well being of an elderly homeless female. The building is the Hoboken Land Improvement company, steps from the south waterfront. Its rear is partly closed off, with partially buried railroad tracks behind it.
Police said the woman was found unresponsive and not breathing. Jersey City ALS responded and pronounced her dead at 9:50 a.m. She was taken by the medical examiner at about 1:10 p.m.

"At this time she has not been identified," police said, "and [the death is] not being considered suspicious."
