Vigil Planned On Hoboken Waterfront For Victims Of Terrorist Attacks In Israel
A vigil has been planned on the Hoboken waterfront for victims of the attacks in Israel. Area officials will be there.
HOBOKEN, NJ — A candlelight vigil is being organized for the Hoboken waterfront on Tuesday to honor victims of Saturday's attacks in Israel by the militant group Hamas.
The Hoboken Hearts Israel vigil will take place at Pier A, just north of the Hoboken train terminal. It will tentatively start at 8 p.m. (check back for updates).
Mayor Ravi Bhalla and area members of the Jewish community will speak at the event, organizers say.

On Saturday, Hamas killed 700 Israelis, including children, and kidnapped others off the street. More than two hundred were killed at a music festival, the international media reported. The death toll in the conflict has climbed past 1,100, according to international reports.

On Saturday, Hoboken Mayor Bhalla said, "Today’s attack on Israel is horrific and inhumane. I am shook to my core. About a year ago I visited Israel with @ajcglobal and saw firsthand what makes it such a beautiful nation. In Hoboken, we pray for peace, and stand in solidarity with our friends in Israel and their relatives in New Jersey, as they endure unimaginable tragedy."
