WATCH: Doomed Truck Driver Swerved To Miss Mattresses Before Fiery, Fatal N.J. Turnpike Crash

A tractor trailer truck swerved to avoid mattresses on the New Jersey Turnpike before crashing to the side of the roadway, killing the driver, a video shows.

The below video from Kevin Hauer comes from a dashboard camera showing the truck swerving from the mattresses, crashing into a railing and turning into a ball of flames.

Hauer then leaves his vehicle while most cars continue on the highway.

The raging tractor trailer fire on the New Jersey Turnpike on Wednesday afternoon prompted the closure of the northbound Western Spur near Exit 15W in Kearny.

The truck rolled over onto the right hand shoulder of the road, where it became fully engulfed in flames, authorities said said.

Fire crews worked to get the flames under control, but the entire northbound western spur was shut down for several hours. The accident blocked all lanes at the Turnpike’s interchange with I-280 West, NJ511 stated.
