Weather Statement For Hudson County: 'Frostbite Can Occur'; Possible Snow On Weekend

"Frostbite can occur in a short amount of time," says the National Weather Service, warning about Tuesday morning's sub-zero wind chills.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — With wind chills predicted to be "sub zero" on Tuesday morning, the National Weather Service issued a special weather statement for Hudson County.

The statement says:

"SUB-ZERO WIND CHILLS LATE TONIGHT INTO TUESDAY MORNING...NW winds 10 to 20 mph will combine with temperatures in the upper single digits to the low teens late tonight into Tuesday morning.

"This will produce wind chills of -5 to -10 across the interior and 0 to -5 for coastal areas.

"If you need to be outside, be prepared for the wind and cold, and dress in layers and wear a hat, heavy coat, as well as gloves or mittens. Frostbite can occur in a short amount of time, so dress in layers and make sure all exposed skin is protected."

What About Snow?

While snow has not been predicted through Friday, the NWS says there's a 30 percent chance of the white stuff Saturday overnight into early Sunday. Keep an eye on the forecast for Hudson County here as the weekend nears, and keep watching Patch.
