Weehawken + Union City Virtual Block Party Announced

“Allow me to re-introduce myself,” is the summer theme for small businesses across Hudson County trying to drum up customer attention during New Jersey’s current re-opening phases.

The first-ever Weehawken + Union City Virtual Block Party, a one-day Zoom event filled with free workshops and special promotions from 15 local businesses, will go live on Saturday, August 8, from 10:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.

No need to worry about the heat or if you forgot your mask. Support neighborhood businesses right from your couch and take fun classes like: live painting, children's theater, build your own violin, and floral arrangements. There is no age limit when it comes to having a good time or to these classes. All are welcomed.

Virtual Block Party is a grassroots initiative created to jumpstart and build back our local Union City and Weehawken economies. In the wake of COVID-19, business owners are trying to come up with out-of-the store ideas to experiment with new products and service offerings to reconnect with customers.

VBP was founded by Aaisha Bhuiyan, a Weehawken resident and ecommerce specialist at Amazon, in collaboration with COMMS/NATION, a PR + Creative Design agency headquartered in Union City, NJ.
