HOBOKEN, NJ — The lunar eclipse that will take place in the wee hours of this Friday morning — as seen from the New York City/Hoboken area — will be the longest one this century, NASA scientists say.

The key viewing time for the near-total eclipse will start a little after 2 a.m. Eastern time, scientists say, and will continue for around 3 hours, 28 minutes, and 23 seconds. The peak will be around 4 a.m.

People all over the country will be able to see it live or via livestreams (more details here). From the New York City area, the key viewing will be around 2-4 a.m.
