Where To Celebrate New Year's Eve in Hoboken

New Year's Eve. It's your last chance to get all of the bad decisions out of your system before everyone around you is all about "getting in shape," "eating right" and "doing good."
If you're going to ditch out on the overpriced Manhattan scene and stay in town, you want an unpretentious night of debaucherous drinking and sloppy midnight toasts, right? Well lucky for you, we've sorted through the deals and the duds. Here's our picks for ringing in 2011 without ending up passed out in a puddle of urine on the PATH train.

seems to be one of the only big, popular bars to eschew an expensive admission for an open bar this year, and is instead only charging a $10 cover, which gets you in the door, a DJ to dance to and a champagne toast at midnight. The rest of the drinks are up to you.
Anthony Perez, a bartender, said they're trying this out for the first time. "(An open bar) restricts people, you get to the bar at 11 p.m., and you're paying a hundred bucks for only a few drinks."

ALL-INCLUSIVE FOOD AND BOOZE
At the , for $80, you get an open bar from 9 p.m to 1 a.m., along with the requisite champagne toast, and a selection of fancy-sounding hors d'oeuvres (lobster bruschetta, chicken satay, ahi tuna on cucumber).
Act fast if you want to spend your New Years at – tickets for their open bar from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. are $75 before Christmas, and $85 afterwards. The admission also includes a hot buffet and passed hors d'oeuvres. And of course, a champagne toast.
The same deal goes for , whose open bar also lasts from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., with tickets costing $65 before Christmas, and $75 afterwards. There's a buffet, champagne toast and party favors. According to their voicemail recording about the bash, a DJ will be spinning "the best of 2010" (so nonstop Lady Gaga?) and dress is semi-formal.
is offering a top shelf open bar from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m., costing $75, with a hot and cold buffet, champagne and tunes by "DJ Chris."
If you don't party too hard, Mulligan's will be open early on New Year's day, playing the UK soccer games.
"We'll usually get some stragglers from New Years Eve (in the morning), people who come in with a hangover to watch the game," said Ash Hawthorne, bartender.
FANCY NIGHT ON THE TOWN
There's a party at the Great Room, where a $175 ticket will get you a buffet and premium open bar from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. You also get to enjoy the throwback sounds of 80's cover band Lost Cigarette.
At the a $100 ticket buys you a five-hour open bar with champagne toast, balloon drop, hats and noisemakers. They've got a DJ playing 80s, 90s and "mashups." Be sure to come hungry, the buffet features crab cakes, shrimp, cheeseburger sliders, eggplant rollatini and penne vodka.
has an open bar from 10 p.m to 2 a.m. for $100 per ticket, tax and gratuity included. If you can wake yourself up, they are offering a New Years Day brunch, costing $20.11 per person, which includes one brunch entrée and two cocktails (like you need to drink more).
For bottle service and tunes from DJ PM, you can go to , the newly opened club above . For $100, you can drink at the open bar from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. and you even get to take home party favors. (which were not specified). If you really want to party it up, you can pay $150 and—on top of the open bar—get a bottle of champagne and a bottle of vodka. Both packages include a champagne toast at midnight.
If you really want to fancy it up, 9:30 pm seating, is a four course dinner with champagne toast at midnight for $100. After midnight, they're opening up to the public with drink specials.
By far some of the best deals for people looking to go all-out on New Years are the packages at . They're offering an open bar from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m., with a buffet and continental breakfast at two price levels. The "General Package" costs $99, and also includes party favors, hats, noisemakers and champagne toast at midnight. The "VIP Package" runs $149 each for a party (minimum of ten people to a party) and includes seating in their lounge area, bottle service (they've teamed up with Ciroc, so you get a bottle of that, plus a choice of two other bottles for your party – and a bottle of Moet for midnight's toast), and the best part: chocolate-covered strawberries.
Darell Kingston, managing partner at Room84, says they "anticipate having a full house for sure."
He says the night aims "to make people feel like they're ballin'."
As for the unusual option of a continental breakfast? "By the end of the night, people get hungry again," Kingston says. "We give them some coffee, so they can sober up a bit, we don't want people tumbling out of the event."
