Hoboken Arts Fest Won't Be Rescheduled, But Studio Tours Return For First Time Since 2019
The Hoboken Fall Arts And Music Festival won't be rescheduled, but the free 2-day Artist Studio Tours will return after a 2-year hiatus.

HOBOKEN, NJ — While fans of the arts may have been disappointed that the remnants of Hurricane Ian canceled Sunday's Hoboken Fall Arts and Music Festival — and it won't be rescheduled, the city said on Tuesday — another big arts event is finally returning this November.
For the first time since 2019, residents will be able to tour art studios and performance spaces throughout Hoboken over one weekend.
The Hoboken Artist Studio Tours have always been held in November, but didn't run in 2020 or 2021 because of COVID.

This year, the tours will be held Nov. 5 and 6, from 12-6 p.m. each day. A map will be available starting Nov. 1, so people can decide which venues to visit, and when.
The self-guided walking tours have always allowed dozens of artists in Hoboken — from painters to pianists to poets — to show off their creations in their studios, schools, and spaces.

Last year, the city replaced the event with "art walks" outside for safety reasons. In fact, this year's event will also include an art walk.
The new event is being dubbed the Hoboken Art Walk & Studio Tour. To participate or get more information, you can contact gfallo@hobokennj.gov.
What About The Arts And Music Festival?
This past weekend, with heavy wind and rain in the forecast, the city canceled the fall Arts and Music Festival. However, several of the musicians, including Alejandro Escovedo Band and Freedy Johnston, performed indoors at Hoboken High School.
City spokesperson Marilyn Baer said on Tuesday that the rest of the festival will not be rescheduled.
"Unfortunately, due to the heavy winds this weekend, the city had to cancel the Arts and
Music Festival," she said, "as it is extremely difficult to reschedule nearly 300 vendors for a future weekend due to their other commitments. The city looks forward to having the Spring Arts and Music Festival next year."
