“I like working with numbers and solving equations,” she says. “It's always come easy to me.”
When she's not studying math Tatiana also likes learning about history. “I like learning how the US began, and how it's been built,” she says.
After class Tatiana is a member of the environmental science club where the students discuss how to curb pollution and encourage recycling. She is also a varsity cheerleader, which she says is definitely a sport in its own right.
“There's teamwork, routines, jumps, cartwheels, tosses in the air,” she says. “People see it as something anyone can do but it takes a lot of time and practice.”
In her spare time Tatiana says she likes to stay home and be near her family. She does like to watch movies, and she recently saw the current big blockbuster The Avengers. “I like action movies, ones with suspense,” she says.
Tatiana intends to go to college, and she's already looking to apply next year to Princeton. “Ever since I was a little girl it's always intrigued me,” she says. Tatiana says she thinks it would be a good fit because she likes the campus, the Ivy League environment and that it's close to home.
She wants to study medicine and become a family doctor. She has several relatives in the medical field who she says have planted a seed. “I hope to be a doctor, it's always been a dream of mine,” she says.
