As a part of Hoboken’s park upgrades, the city will be pruning trees in Church Square, Elysian, and Stevens Parks over the next two weeks. Tree care is required to remove dead wood and branches that could become safety hazards during winter, as well as improve the health of trees and grass. All tree pruning will be conducted by a licensed tree care expert between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Certain park areas may need to be temporarily closed for a few hours during pruning to protect safety. These areas will be clearly marked, but park goers should use caution.
