Incoming Storms Postpone Hazlet Concert: See Details

The Garden State is currently under a risk for severe thunderstorms and a flood watch, according to the National Weather Service.

HAZLET, NJ — Thursday night's concert in the park has been postponed in Hazlet due to inclement weather, the township announced Thursday morning.

According to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service (NWS), New Jersey is currently under risk for severe thunderstorms and a flood watch, as a line of storms capable of damaging winds, hail and isolated tornadoes moves through the state.

The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center placed most of New Jersey under a level 2 "slight risk" for severe weather, with far northern parts of the state under a level 1 "marginal risk."

Storms are expected to develop by early afternoon and continue into the evening, mainly south of Interstate 78.

Out of an abundance of caution, Thursday night's performance of the No Surrender - Bruce Springsteen Tribute has been rescheduled in Hazlet.

The concert will now take place on Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. in Veterans Park. The event is free, and all are welcome.
