The Jersey Shore Chinese School, which holds classes at the Satz School, is offering courses in a self-defense martial art called Pami-Kol.
The Jersey Shore Chinese School describes Pami-Kol as a practical Filipino martial art that provides students with the confidence, self-esteem and skill sets needed to defend themselves against all forms of aggression (with and without street weapons) through “time-saving methods.”
Classes are offered on Saturdays, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Youth classes for students 12 and up focus on safety awareness skills to help students avoid dangerous situations. Age-appropriate techniques are patterned on real-life scenarios, including bullying, robbery, and home invasion.
Adult classes are patterned for both men and women, focus on real-life scenarios (robbery, home invasion, abductions, hostage situations) and help develop mental alertness, instincts, stress relief and how to protect yourself and loved ones.
Classes $160. For more information about these and other classes offered by the Jersey Shore Chinese School, visit www.jscsnj.org or e-mail jscs@jscsnj.org.
