Block Scheduling Coming to Raritan High School in Hazlet
Parent information session scheduled for Feb. 11
Starting in September, public high school students in Hazlet will take fewer classes per day. But the classes will be approximately 90 minutes long, and offer a more concentrated experience.
An information session for parents has been scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 6:30 p.m.
Block scheduling allows for longer classes. According to Principal Will Smith, it will mean students can take 8 courses instead of 7 they currently take.
"Eight is the standard among our competing districts and will enable our students more choice in the scheduling and will make their applications more competitive during the college application process," he wrote in the school's January newsletter.
