The Hudson-Raritan Estuary, including the Navesink River, were, up to the 1900's, a major source of oysters for New York City and the surrounding area. After 1900 the oyster population declined to almost zero. Here is an opportunity to hear what a local organization is doing the bring the oyster back to our area.
Come join us at Monmouth Beach Cultural Center, Ocean Ave, Monmouth Beach on Wednesday, May 29th.
