The Excitement Continues To Build For Holmdel’s “Battle of the Faculties” On May 21

"Battle of the Faculties" will pit Holmdel's school staffs against one another in hilarious competitive events, all to benefit HFEE's initiative to enhance the high school's performing arts center.

The upcoming “Battle of the Faculties” between the Holmdel schools is really building momentum. The event being held on Tuesday, May 21 starts at 6:30 PM in the Holmdel High School  gymnasium and will feature the faculties and staffs of our four district school buildings competing for the coveted “Faculty Cup” and bragging rights (at least until next year). Over 75 staff members have signed on to compete thus far and the number is growing!

Fun and competitive events will not just be limited to the faculties and staffs, however. Though we will see these brave warriors sweat it out in the tug-o-war, hula hoop, three-legged race, pie-eating, fitness and basketball challenges, there will be audience participation as well. Audience members and students will help out their school’s team in a dance contest, bleacher yell, and by wearing their school’s assigned colors. A highlight of the evening is sure to be “Are You Smarter Than A Holmdel Student?” where the four school principals will compete in an intense trivia contest. It promises to be a fun night full of thrills and laughs for all in the community.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Holmdel Foundation for Educational Excellence’s initiative, the PAC 21st Century Stage Enhancements Fund Drive, which will help to update the stage lighting in our high school performing arts center. The high school stage continues to be a centerpiece for artistic and creative expression here in Holmdel, and the improved lighting will certainly enhance these endeavors.
