Car Goes 'Airborne' Off The Parkway In Holmdel Sunday, Police Say
The accident happened Sunday afternoon; Holmdel police responded to South Holland Rd. for a car that flew off the Parkway into a tree.

HOLMDEL, NJ — A person had to be extricated from their after they drove off the Garden State Parkway, went airborne and ran into a tree on South Holland Road in Holmdel Sunday afternoon, Holmdel Twp. police said.
The accident happened Sunday afternoon at 12:25 p.m.; Holmdel police patrols responded to South Holland Road for a report of a vehicle off the road and had hit a tree. Responding officers located the vehicle and determined the driver was stuck inside and needed to be extricated.
Police say the car had been traveling northbound on the Garden State Parkway, when for an unknown reason the vehicle went off of the roadway, striking small shrubs and trees. It continued down a hill, going airborne as it crossed over South Holland Road before striking several trees and coming to a complete stop.

Holmdel First Aid, Fire and Rescue responded to extricate the driver, who was then transported to the Holmdel State Police Barracks and was airlifted to Jersey Shore Medical Center. He is currently listed in stable condition. South Holland Road was closed for an hour during the investigation.
