Local authorities are warning residents to lock their vehicles following a recent string of attempted car entries.
HOLMDEL, NJ - Local authorities are warning residents to lock their vehicles following a recent string of attempted car entries.
In a Facebook post, the Holmdel Township Police Department noted that the department is investigating a report of a vehicle stolen near South Beers Street around 3:30 a.m. on July 11.
The vehicle was later recovered in North Jersey, police said.

In a July 9 Facebook post, Holmdel police noted that three male suspects were observed walking up a residential driveway on Longview Drive at 2 a.m. No vehicles were lifted from the property.
After the home’s flood lights were activated, the homeowner opened the front door and the suspects ran back toward the street. All the homeowner’s vehicles were locked and the key fobs were inside the house, police said.

“We thank all our residents for locking their cars, taking their keys, and keeping their homes secure,” police said in the post. “These criminals are working throughout Monmouth County. They will keep coming to an area if they are successful. If we continue to work together, we can make them fail.”
