Confucius Memorial Ceremony at Jersey Shore Chinese School

Jersey Shore Chinese School celebrates Confucius Birthday

2018 Confucius Memorial Ceremony hosted by Association of New Jersey Chinese School & Jersey Shore Chinese School was on Saturday, September 22, 2018 (10AM to 12PM) at William R. Satz School_24 Crawfords Corner Road, Holmdel.

For three thousand years, Confucius’s idea of the Great Harmony for the world had been the goal for government leaders and hope for mankind, and his “no child left behind” is the essence of education for achieving equality among all people. His philosophy of “love people as you would love yourself” influences mankind forever. He is respected as the greatest master of all teachers. His position is so sublimed that back in ancient times, any emperor or government leaders would have to bow to him. In every city of China or Taiwan, there is a shrine for his position. Thousand years have passed, every year people in the East celebrate the birthday of this great master, since he is the greatest teacher of all, nowadays Chinese people celebrate his birthday as the teacher’s day, a day to say thanks to teachers.

A special form of ceremony has been passed down from Chinese ancestors for thousand years. No matter the changing of dynasty or government, this form of ceremony has always been performed during his birthday. This year, the Association of New Jersey Chinese Schools, for the 13th Year, was honored to introduce this format of ceremony in Holmdel's Jersey Shore Chinese School.
