Court Date Pushed Back Yet Again For 'Pooping' Superintendent

The court date for New Jersey's infamous alleged "pooping superintendent" has been pushed back yet again, this time to June 12 in Holmdel.

HOLMDEL, NJ — At his lawyer's request, the court date for New Jersey's infamous alleged "pooping superintendent" has been pushed back yet a second time.

Thomas Tramaglini, the now-suspended superintendent of Kenilworth public schools, has been summoned to appear in Holmdel municipal court to answer to charges that he defecated on the Holmdel High School track and near the football field. Tramaglini was first due in court at the beginning of May, and his court date was then pushed back to next Wednesday, May 30. However, his new lawyer requested that the court date be pushed back yet a second time, and his latest court date is now June 12 at 10 a.m.

In addition to public defecation, he has been charged with lewdness, as well as littering, as Holmdel police said they also found baby wipes at the scene.

Tramaglini was arrested early in the morning, before 6 a.m., on Monday, April 30. Holmdel police said the high school track team had been stumbling over what appeared to be human feces on a near daily basis, prompting the Holmdel school security officer to set up a camera to capture whoever was doing the alleged pooping.

Tramaglini is now represented by Matthew S. Adams, a partner in the ritzy Morristown law firm Fox Rothchild. Tramaglini lives in Matawan and retained a local attorney when he was first arrested. But as media intensity grew on the sensational case, he made the switch to Adams, a white-collar criminal defense attorney.

Tramaglini has been suspended with pay from his job as the superintendent of the Kenilworth school district. His salary is listed as $147,504 a year.

Tramaglini, an avid runner who competed in at least one New York City marathon, has been seen in gym shorts and sneakers by reporters staked out at his Matawan home, but so far has declined to comment on his arrest.
