CVS Drive-Thru Pharmacy Proposed For Route 35 and Holmdel Road

A CVS / Pharmacy retail store with drive-through service is being proposed for the former Remsen Dodge dealership location, at Route 35 and Holmdel Road, in Hazlet. 

First Hartford Realty Corp will appear before the Hazlet Township Planning Board for amended preliminary and final major site plan and bulk variance approval to construct a 12,900 square foot store. 

The property is located at 3391 Route 35 North, between Bedle and Holmdel Roads. Stop & Shop of Keyport, which also has a pharmacy, is nearby. There are two Walgreens drug stores less than a mile away in Hazlet, at Poole Avenue on Route 35, and also at Poole Avenue at Route 36.  

The Hazlet Township Planning Board initially granted preliminary and final major site plan approval and bulk variance relief for the store at a October 7, 2010 public meeting. 

The applicant is now seeking amended preliminary and final major site plan approval to construct a fence and retaining wall associated with two flood hazard storage areas on the property, as required by the New Jersey DEP. 

Also, the applicant is seeking a waiver for front yard setback to permit construction of fences and retaining walls. 

The Planning Board will meet at the Hazlet Township Municipal Building, 1766 Union Avenue, Hazlet, New Jersey, on July 7 at 7:30 p.m.
