The National Sleep Foundation recommends that adults should be getting 6-8 hours of sleep every night.

Written by Dr. Lisa Golding Granado, Immediate Care Medical Walk-In of Hazlet

Setting the clocks back for daylight savings time in March means its time to think about how much rest we’re getting. The National Sleep Foundation recommends that adults should be getting 6-8 hours of sleep every night, however surveys suggest that most adults get less than 6 hours of sleep at night.

It is believed that inadequate sleep can lead to problems with driving and poor concentration at work and daytime fatigue. Sleep deprivation has numerous causes including, pain, restless leg syndrome and very often sleep apnea and snoring.
