HOLMDEL-HAZLET, NJ — Schools throughout Holmdel and Hazlet will operate on delayed opening schedules on Tuesday due to winter weather conditions.

- Two-hour delayed opening due to overnight refreezing
- Main roads are mostly clear, some side roads and sidewalks remain slushy
- Sidewalks are the responsibility of homeowners and critical for safe access to bus stops, district officials said

- 90-minute delayed opening due to frigid temperatures and patches of ice

Tuesday’s delayed openings follow snow days across the Garden State that came after a winter storm hit New Jersey with snow, ice, wintry mix, and subzero wind chills over the weekend.

Looking ahead, the National Weather Service is warning residents of dangerously cold temperatures arriving this week, with several nights featuring single-digit temperatures and wind chills below zero.
“Some record lows and record low highs may be in jeopardy later this week,” officials said on Monday. “The stretch begins tonight, with a Cold Weather Advisory in place for the entire area.”

- Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 9. Wind chill values as low as -3. Northwest wind 10-15 MPH, with gusts as high as 25 MPH.
