Details of Alleged Laptop Theft From Hazlet Strip Club

One patron stole the laptop from another, police said, and then tried to sell it back to him for $200.

HAZLET, NJ - When Patch published this article about the alleged theft of a laptop from a gentlemen's club in Hazlet, many people wondered about the circumstances. The incident happened Nov. 5 at Delilah's Den, a strip club on South Laurel Avenue in Hazlet Township, police said.

Jonathan Diaz, 34, of Belford, was a patron at the bar. He was an acquaintance of the victim, who was also a patron of Delilah's. On the date of the alleged theft, both men were outside the bar in the parking lot. The victim was intoxicated and while he was distracted, Diaz went into his bag and took the laptop, valued at $2,000, police said.

The next day Diaz contacted the victim by phone and offered to return the laptop if the victim gave him $200, police said. Diaz was charged with theft and is currently incarcerated at the Monmouth County Jail on unrelated charges, Hazlet police told Patch.
