Michael C. Germinario Memorial Field Dedication at Satz School

Sunday July 31, 2011 will mark the long-awaited dedication of Michael C. Germinario Memorial Field at the location of the former Lower Softball Field at WR Satz Middle School on Crawfords Corner Road in Holmdel.

A tireless and passionate volunteer baseball and softball coach,  Germinario passed away on Aug. 1, 2010.

This dedication was originally announced in April at the Opening Day Ceremonies for Holmdel Youth Activities Association.

The public is invited to attend the formal Dedication Ceremony at 5 p.m. on July 31, where Michael will be honored by the Holmdel Youth Activities Association, the Holmdel Township Committee, the Holmdel Board of Education, and a collection of close friends and family.

In addition to the formal ceremony and some reflections on the life of Michael Germinario, a ceremonial first pitch will be delivered by Cassandra Germinario to Christopher Germinario at the dedication. Christopher is entering his senior year at Holmdel High School, and Cassandra is entering her sophomore year at St. John Vianney.

As a token of her gratitude, Michael's wife Louise has arranged to have some light refreshments available for all in attendance.

Finally, we have also arranged for a short, informal, ceremonial parent vs. child softball game for a few innings, while everyone enjoys their refreshments.
