Fire in Holmdel Early Sunday Morning

Two cars were destroyed in the fire that broke out on 18 Dandelion Lane.

HOLMDEL, NJ - Two cars caught on fire early Sunday morning while parked in a Holmdel driveway and the flames spread to the exterior of a nearby home, according to a report from Holmdel police on the Asbury Park Press.

Holmdel police received multiple calls about a house fire at 4:15 a.m. Sunday. When officers arrived to 18 Dandelion Lane, they found two vehicles on fire in the driveway. The Holmdel Township Fire Department also responded and put out the flames.

One car parked in the driveway was destroyed by the fire and the second car sustained significant damage. The outside of the home on Dandelion Lane also sustained damage, police said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by Holmdel Police Detective Andrew Kret and the Monmouth County Fire Marshal's office, according to the APP.
