HOLMDEL, NJ - Do you need a place to toss that old refrigerator or air conditioner? Thanks to a partnership between the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) and the state's Clean Energy Program, a solution has come just in time for spring cleaning.

Under the Clean Energy Program and BPU, residential customers of JCP&L are eligible to participate in an appliance recycling program through June 30. To date, New Jersey residents have recycled over 65,000 appliances through the program to make room for newer, more efficient appliances.

"In general, newer appliances consume less energy than older appliances," Holmdel Township wrote in a statement. "In addition to being more environmentally friendly, you can also save money on energy costs."
