Future Of Holmdel's Potters Farm Still Uncertain
The proposed dementia home has yet to be approved by the Holmdel Zoning Board of Adjustment.
HOLMDEL, NJ — The fate of the Potters Farm, located off exit 114 in Holmdel at the crossroads of Holmdel and Middletown Township, is unknown. The farm was sold to a developer who intends to construct a 105-unit dementia care facility.
The Holmdel Zoning Board of Adjustment held a meeting on March 16th at Town Hall in order to hear testimony from the developer, United Methodist.
Sanford Brown, attorney for the developer, discussed the plan for the development and took questions from the public and objectors such as Middletown Township, who sent their attorney to represent the township in its opposition.

The development's plans call for an enclosed neighborhood with 11 one-story buildings and two two-story buildings. For residents with dementia and their guests, there will also be a grocery store, restaurant, and theater on-site.
Larry Carlson, the president of United Methodist said, the idea is to create a safe environment for residents with dementia that would replicate the normal rhythms of life.
